We have stayed in her larger suites, her smaller rooms as well as her Royal named suites and without fail, we have enjoyed the visit. The decor is wood, the portholes still open and work and the smells of old Queen Mary waft throughout your visit. Each room or suite is different in size, shape and amenities. The rooms, for the most part, are all preserved EXACTLY as they were back in the glory days of sailing. The HOTEL - Nowhere on earth will you find a finer example of Art Deco design and refinement at sea than right here in in Long Beach, CA. There is a gold mine of opportunity, I just hope to live to see the day it is revitalized. There is SO much potential! But, until people wake up and realize that this is a JEWEL to be cherished, nothing will be done. The ship rests alone at the end of a long drive next to a now abandoned Sea Shore Village. Having sailed around the world and serving as a troop ship in WW2, it is remarkable that she is still with us today.
